Scope of Warranty Coverage

  • Repaired or replaced parts that malfunction, or do not work as intended or designed.
  • Warranty extends to cover the labor cost of part replacement and any other repairs specifically resulting from the initial repair, except in the situations outlined below.

Warranty Does Not Protect Against

After The Shock Dr. repairs the components, the warranty does not protect against:

  • Subsequent mishandling that causes the unit to bend, twist, or crack
  • Problems caused by water or foreign contaminants
  • Damage resulting from attempted customer repairs or tampering with internal hardware
  • New malfunctions or damages unrelated to the original repair
  • Issues which arise from normal wear and tear during riding

Our warranty also does not cover the outcome of a repair if certain pre-repair conditions exist, including:

  • Existence of known manufacturing and/or performance issues related to the device separate from the repair, as noted prior to the repair
  • Existence of damage to the unit, as noted prior to the repair
  • Tampering with internal hardware: under certain conditions, internal damage may make a repair impossible. Your technician will be able to explain in further detail upon diagnosing your specific component.

The warranty is valid only for the specific device repaired and the original customer; it is not transferable across components or if the component is sold or given to another individual.

If a customer’s component is damaged as a direct result of a repair attempted by one of The Shock Dr. technicians, The Shock Dr. will attempt to refurbish the component, with the original repair issue resolved. If refurbishing is not possible, The Shock Dr. will replace the component with a product of equal or greater value to the damaged component based on the model’s fair market value given its condition as received, as determined by The Shock Dr.

The normal turnaround time for repairs sent to The Shock Dr.’s Repair Department is approximately 48 hours, starting the day after the item is received at The Shock Dr. Rush service is available for an additional fee.

The Shock Dr. Work Authorization and Service Waiver

By submitting repairs to The Shock Dr., the customer agrees to the following conditions:

I authorize The Shock Dr. to perform repair work on my suspension component. I understand that The Shock Dr. repair technicians have been trained to perform device repairs, but The Shock Dr. is in no way affiliated with the manufacturer. Further, I agree to release, indemnify, and hold The Shock Dr. from liability for any claims or damages of any kind or description that may arise from any repair work performed, unless it is caused by severe negligence of The Shock Dr. or its agents.

I understand that repairs or technical support rendered by The Shock Dr. may void manufacturer warranties for this component. The Shock Dr. and its affiliates do not assume any liability or warranty in the event that the manufacturer warranties are voided but may, at its sole discretion, offer its own warranty on the parts and/or services performed.

I further understand that it is my responsibility to inform The Shock Dr. accurately with regard to the model description and condition of my component, as well as whether any modifications or repairs have previously been attempted or completed. The Shock Dr. technician will perform a check-in diagnosis of my component to evaluate its condition. If the component arrives at The Shock Dr. in noticeably different condition than previously described, I acknowledge that additional charges may apply. I understand that The Shock Dr. technician will contact me to discuss the discrepancies and potential additional costs.

The customer understands that they will be initially removing and later reinstalling the product when it is returned from The Shock Dr., and that the correct installation of the repaired component back onto the bicycle is the responsibility of the customer. If the customer is uncertain about how to remove or install a component, The Shock Dr. recommends taking the product to a local bike shop for assistance by a professional mechanic.

As the customer, I recognize that the careful packing and shipping of my suspension component to The Shock Dr. is my responsibility. If the product arrives with further damage or is lost in transit, I bear full responsibility for that risk of loss as the shipper.

If any device should be lost or damaged further than the condition it was released to The Shock Dr. in, The Shock Dr.’s liability will be limited to the cost of repair or replacement of the component in its condition at the time of transfer to The Shock Dr. based on current fair market value. The Shock Dr.’s liability for damages from any cause when it comes to repairing your product is limited to the cost of the repair service or a comparable replacement component. The Shock Dr. and its affiliates have no liability whatsoever for indirect or consequential damages resulting from a repair or repair attempt, including any lost profits or revenue of the customer.
